Tove Jansson exhibition

For a long time I was planning to arrange a lolita meetup in Ateneum in order to visit Tove Jansson's exhibition, and finally it succeeded!

It was my second time visiting the exhibition so I tried to focus on the things that I did not remember from my first visit, but in the end I ended up admiring mostly the same paintings as I did already.

One of my favourites was this self-portrait with bobcat-muff:

I kept telling myself to focus non-Moomin art, but I couldn't help but enjoy the cute flowers, characters and landscapes that could have been straight from the Moominworld. Also, it was so cute to find small random Moomin characters from some of her work.

After the museum visit we took some pictures and visited -surprise surprise- Fazer cafe.

Here's our group photo:

I haven't been wearing gothic lolita or EGL for a while, and when I was planning my outfit it was a bit "freezy"... But after some thinking it was nice to find my inner gothic loli again and just enjoy wearing the beautiful clothes!

And guess what!

I got to wear my new Iron Gate in public!

So I'm a happy owner of Moitié's Iron Gate, my ultimate dream dress (or in this case, skirt). I'm happy that the skirt I got is the longer version, since Moitié is usually showing half of my tights. :'D

Here's what I'm wearing:

Skirt, blouse, headdress, socks, shoes: Moi-même-Moitié,
jacket: Black Peace Now,
can't remember where the accessories are from...

Tomorrow it's back to uni! I'm trying to dare and wear lolita more often, even for lectures and such. Also, I wish to get to attend lots of meetups during the autumn since it's finally the perfect temperature to wear lolita. *-*

Thank you for reading this post~

Tea parties and some sushi

It has been a while!

There are some longer posts I would like to share but I'm planning on using a little more time with them so they can wait! In the meantime, here's something little from tea parties and meet ups. <3

Mimi was kind to invite us to her house for some tea. I really love their interior decoration, it's like sipping tea in a museum! Sanni Siira took some lovely pictures and I'm taking the authorization of sharing my favourites. Please do not copy any of her work.

Our group photo:

And my outfit:

Skirt, socks: Moi-même-Moitié,
shoes: YOSUKE,
blouse, hat: second-hand,
choker: made by Iiraliina,
rest is off-brand.

Some time ago I also had the pleasure to attend a sushi meet up! It was held in Helsinki, which was nice since there hasn't been any meetings in a long time. It was arranged by Katja.

I totally forgot to take pictures from the restaurant but the place (Umeshu) was really nice and fancy! And the sushi was tasty.

Here is our group photo and the outfit of the day:

Dress, jacket: Baby, the stars shine bright,
mini-hat: Angelic Pretty,
socks: Moi-même-Moitié,
shoes: Montreal,
bag: Liz Lisa

It was a kind of cold day but I just HAD to wear something else than my winter-coat, so I stuffed myself with knits and shirts and felt like a overly stuffed plush toy. :D

Also, I lovelovelove pink. Bf got the jacket for me as a present and I found the mini-hat from Hellocon's flea-market. <3 Some day I might retire from sweet lolita, but that day is not today!

Thank you so much for taking a look at this post.

Street fashion photography project

Hello!

Lately I haven't had much time to keep my blog dated, it has once again been really busy at the university. I have really loved my new uni so far and the autumn has been great! I had really interesting history of art courses, such as pre-surrealistic postcard course, modern environmental and community art and modern Hongkong art course. I also participated a course of masculinity studies, which was quite interesting. I have also been studying Japanese!

There is still some deadlines to catch up, but I thought that I could share some pictures I recently received. I participated a make-up school and photography school's event where they designed make-up for lolita or visual kei -styled models and then, after some practice with the make-up, styled the models completely and photographer students took some amazing pictures.

My make-up was kind of wild, so the outcome was not very lolita, but it was absolutely artistic and extremely carefully made. They also did my hair, which I kind of love like that. >D

Pictures are taken/edited by Linda Rönnqvist
Hair and make-up Nyoko Candycotton and Iina

Blouse, skirt, headdress, socks: Moi-même-Moitié

The school held an art exhibition, in where the photographers chose three photos of each of their model. Here are my pictures:

Thank you for taking a look at this post. <3

It seems that summer has started!

Hello dear readers! It has been a while... A long while, to be precise. I apologize for not making any posts after Christmas but I was really busy with my studies and I wrote so much essays and stuff that it felt like I didn't want to write any extra. And I hardly got to wear lolita since I was so busy all the time!

But finally, it's summer! Vacation time for me! I already have gotten to wear more lolita than what I wore last spring in total. But still, I thought that this first post after pause would be about what happened in last few months (or of what I have pictures, at least...)!

So for a start: My boyfriend and I went to Sea Life! It was around my birthday. I tried to take some pictures of the fish:

Nemo-fish!

For babies!

They were quite mesmerizing.

I wore very casual lolita that day. The picture's light is quite bad, apologies!

Skirt is Bodyline and socks Jane Marple, rest is from ordinary shops like Monki and Cubus.

Next would be HelLoCon.

I organized a gothic/aristocrat fashion show with Mari's help. The name and theme of the show was "Ehdotonta eleganssia" ("Pure elegance") and our models were all super elegant and graceful!

You can see the show in YouTube:

I consider making a separate post of all the outfits containing a huge amount of pictures, but there is so much models that it'll take some time...:D

Here's my outfit:

Pictures by Sanni Siira

Dress: Innocent World
blouse: Alice and the Pirates
bonnet and socks: Chantilly
shoes: Minna Parikka
fan: Belle Modeste

I also modelled in MUST!'s fashion show that Tuulia Lautamaja (Cloudberry Lady)  held. You can see the video here;

I really loved my dress! I wanted to have it so badly, it was really pretty, made with amazing quality and it fitted me quite nicely. <3

Again, pictures by Sanni Siira. Dress and blouse by MUST!

In April Evanee held a meet-up in Helsinki. It was nice to be able to attend in a meet-up after quite a long time. I even got to meet many new lolitas!

Sanni Siira took the picture.

Dress: Alice and the Pirates
bonnet: Innocent World
socks: Jane Marple
shoes: Double Decker.

Lastly, I thought about sharing some pictures we took with Jari B. Miettinen in Hietaniemi's graveyard:

Inka edited the pictures. Ahhh it was so cold!

The outfit is same as in HelLoCon, but shoes are Pleaser's.

Thank you for taking a look at this post and once again, I'm so sorry for the pause! I'll be more active from now on so see you soon. <3

P.s. this doesn't have a thing to do with the theme of my blog, but I have gotten to meet such wonderful new people in my university that I'm going to share out Vappu-celebration picture!

History of art -students! I'm the only-one who forgot The Hat!!

Have a wonderful summer everyone!

This was Halloween

So it has been quite a while since the last post... I've been crazy busy at the university. I should return soon to my Latin translation so this post will be just a small look of how Halloween went! :)

My dress few days before Halloween. I was supposed to visit an art museum with my boyfriend but we decided to instead be lazy and have some milkshake and hot white-chocolate.

Dress, choker, socks: Moi-même-Moitié,
Jacket: Black Peace Now
Shoes: YOSUKE
Hat is bought second-hand and self-customized

It had been snowing a little so it was quite cold!

I celebrated Halloween in Turku with other history of art students. I wanted to make a Pinkie Pie inspired coord, as I think she suits Halloween theme quite well, but unfortunately I don't have a picture that shows the outfit properly... Here's some pics we took before and during the party:

I wish I could have done a little more with my hair and accessorizes but I only have half of my wardrobe in Turku. xD

Dress, socks; Baby, the stars shine bright
Blouse: Dear Celine
Beret: Deary (from Yumetenbo)

My bf's band had a Halloween themed photo-shoot and I helped him with the make-up and hair, I took some pictures after the shoot:

Old-school visual kei!

Here's also KARMIA's new Halloween release:

You can find the actual pictures of the photo-shoot from Facebook

Thank you for taking a look. <3

Notre Dame

These pictures are from my last visit to Paris, taken during the lolita convention. It had been a little dream of mine to be able to take gothic lolita pictures under Notre Dame!

Pictures are taken and edited by Emilia Lahtinen/AG, who I usually like to favour when it comes to figuring out who I'm asking to take pictures during out lolita meet-ups. I feel so lucky that she visited Paris the same time I did!

So the pictures don't really tell a story and are not so different when compared to each others, so I decided not to include lyrics like I usually do. But then again, if you like, please listen to the following song! It really kept rolling in my head while the pictures were taken.

It's GPKISM's Angelus. Feat. Selia. :)

I really have to apologize for the ultimate face-spamming but... Ah whatever. Here are the pictures:

Everything I'm wearing is Moi-même-Moitié except shoes and jewelry. They are random.

Thank you very much for taking a look!

Paris, Lolita Convention 2012

About two weeks before the Lolita Convention I decided that I really want to go there too. The convention was in Paris! I love Paris!! The trip was just wonderful.

I was really looking forward to seeing GPK in his showcase. It was really worth the wait, he was amazing.

We also did a lot of shopping and took tons of pictures.... I'll post a lot of pics in this post, so prepare yourselves. xD

Day 1.

Momo and I arrived to our hotel which was located to Republique. We did some sightseeing, walked quite a lot and went to Italian restaurant.

Outfit of the day!

Notre Dame

Inside of Notre Dame. The windows are just so beautiful when light  comes through them.

We ate pizza!

I just loved these metro entrances! They were like from a fairytale!
Day 2.

So this was the first convention day. We got dressed up and headed to Pelleport where the convention was being held.

Before the convention we went to a park nearby and took some pictures:

Outfit of the day:
Dress, chocker, headdress, socks: Moi-même-Moitié,
rest is offbrand.

There were so many sellers over there! And everyone looked so beautiful, French lolitas are just lovely. I also have to point that there were surprisingly many Finnish lolitas... But also British, Swedish, and Russian lolitas and aristocrats I got to talk to.

With Kamihana Shi
I ended up spending lots of time behind Rosa Nitida's desk. I had missed Iira so much (and my feet were hurting from wearing platforms) so it was plenty of fun (and comfort). Hopefully I was even some help for her. xD

Now may I start with the fangirling? I mean GPK! Really! I'm still so happy I got to meet him!

I have listened GPKISM for a while, I fell in love with the dark sound and beautiful image. I was so heartbroken when it was announced that they would take a break, but then I found out about GPK's solo work!

With Kamihana and Iira. Haha out clothes match.

I really am hysteric when it comes to some artists so I just hope I didn't act too awkward. Anyway, they were selling a Phoenix CD, photoset and a poster. I bought them all and got plenty of autographs. <3

I asked him to write me a small part of some lyrics and mentioned that Iudicium is one of my favourite songs. He wrote this. So... I ended up crying.

The concert was great! First there was question & answer, we asked if he had any plans with Flood of Rain, which lipstick brand he uses, how is his taste in music and what kind of things inspire him.

After the Q&A GPK played some remastered GPKISM songs and sang. I adore his voice so much, it's absolutely beautiful. I just wish there could have been more proper stage and such. I hope to see GPK in all his glory!

Some pictures Kamihana Shi took:

Aah it was so great. <3

You can find GPK's fanpage from Facebook: Gothique Prince Ken
And also lots of information of his new work from Official French Street-team
Please also listen to his tracks here.

Day 3.

So we headed back to the convention!

With Iira
Iira, Toni and I are so cool that we should form a visual kei band
With Russian lolita and aristocrat. I loved their look!
Iira became spare-Ken
...and I became spare-Iira
On the second day, fashion show was being held. It was lovely! All the models were so beautiful and all of the clothes were stunning. I took some pictures, mostly of Cloudberry Lady.

And other showcase was being held! GPK first sang some GPKISM's Japanese songs and also some other because we shouted that we wanted more, afterwards he played a short DJ set.

I'm so happy... So overwhelmingly happy... He sang Angelus!! I love Angelus so much. I could have never believed that I'd get to hear it live. So again, I ended up crying.

During the DJ set all of the Finns were dancing again, and he played Velvet Eden's remix Witch on flames! Yaay!

Day 4.

The final full day in Paris. We decided to shop and walk around.

I tried to create some kind of gyaru look.

Outfit of the day:
Knit: Alice and the Pirates,
dress: Yumetenbo's Deary,
socks: Jane Marple,
shoes: Melissa/Vivienne Westwood
roses from H&M and lashes are Diamond Lashes!

We started with Momo by going to a manga shop, the best in Paris, which unfortunately ended up being closed.

After accepting the fact that the shop would stay closed we headed to Baby, the Stars Shine Bright's store. We met panda kigurumi wearing Iira (she was like the cutest plushie) and Jasmine, very nice and pretty Italian lolita.

I bought Alice and the Pirates Drosselmeyer's Wonder Box one-piece in red and a matching ribbon. The dress is so cute and elegant!!

Next we met some lolitas from London and headed together for crepes!

I had nutella banana crepe!
After the crepes Iira, Toni, Jasmin, Momo and I decided to head to Lafayette to do some Vivienne Westwood shopping... I ended up buying Melissa's sandals for very reasonable price.

Later on we visited streetfashion shop Harajuku.

In the evening Toni, Momo and I walked... a LOT. I mean, LOT. All the way from Notre Dame to Eiffel tower and to Les Invalides. I have to mention that we had already walked a lot while shopping earlier. My poor feet were hurting so bad but it was definitely worth it! The weather was nice so we did lots of sight-seeing.

A random guy under Eiffel tower shouted to Toni "JESUS! We will follow you to Nazareth!" and walked behind him like that for a while. People around us applauded. XD

Maybe I'll post the stuff I bought next... So these are from the convention and from Lafayette and Les Halles.

Melissa sandals and Chantilly socks in brown x cream

Supercute carriage necklace with pearls

Rosa Nitida chocker. I love the materials..!

Hair-rose

...they match!

Some claire's earrings and a ring I bought from Iira

French manga for my little sister. She can speak French! Unfortunately I can't. XD

Some books I bought from the convention. Junko Mizuno's la Petite Sirene  and a picture book of BJD dolls.

La Petite Sirene, it's in French so I will not understand a thing, but the art is so beautiful!

The BJD book is actually a souvenir for a friend. <3

And finally... Chantilly's bonnet! I have the perfect socks for this. I'm so exited of creating a coord with this!
So the following day, we had to leave... I'm going to miss Paris so much. But I know I will definitely return there. <3

Last pictures:

Wearing my new AatP dress. The last Starbucks at Arlanda airport! I  was so tired. x__x

Admiring GPK's photoset. XD
Thank you so much for taking a look. <3 As a reward for those who had the energy to view all of it, I'll post the idiotic pictures here:

Have a nice summer everyone!
